Over the past few months, our team at Wentworth Golf Club in Tarpon Springs has been through one of the toughest chapters in our history.
What was supposed to be a “grand reopening” in October — a moment to celebrate progress and renewed energy — turned instead into a hard lesson about patience, communication, and how much our community truly cares about this course.
When our new cart fleet was delayed, we had no choice but to close down half of the course at the last minute and cancel a number of tee times. We know how frustrating that was. We heard the disappointment loud and clear — on the phones, online, and face-to-face. It was a moment that tested both our reputation and our resolve.
Since then, we’ve worked quietly but persistently to make things right.
We’ve focused on restoring trust, improving operations, and rebuilding the foundation of what makes Wentworth special: a neighborhood golf course that belongs to its players, staff, and the Tarpon Springs community.
A New Chapter Starts Friday, November 21st
We’re proud to share that on Friday, November 21, Wentworth Golf Club will be fully open again — this time for real, with every detail in place.
Our brand-new fleet of golf carts is on the way, the Pro Shop is stocked and ready, and our Scratch House Pub has a new team of friendly faces behind the bar.
More importantly, we’re recommitting to transparency about the course’s condition and our goals for improvement.
Our greens are still being worked on. They’re not where we want them yet, and we won’t pretend otherwise. But they’re healing, they’re playable, and every day they get a little closer to the quality you deserve. Because of these ongoing conditions, tee times will remain just $19.99 until the greens are in better shape.
We’re not rushing perfection this time. We’re focused on doing things right, one round, one hole, one honest update at a time.
Reopening Happy Hour at Scratch House Pub
To celebrate this next step forward, we’re inviting everyone to join us at the Scratch House Pub on Friday, November 21, for a relaxed Reopening Happy Hour — no fanfare, no over-promises, just good food, good drinks, and good company.

We’ve learned the hard way that you can’t rebuild trust overnight. But we can promise to communicate honestly, to work relentlessly on improving course conditions, and to make every guest feel welcome from the moment they walk into the clubhouse.
We’re more grateful than ever for the people who believe in Wentworth. The familiar faces who stop by the Pub just to check in, the league players who keep showing up, and the new golfers who remind us why we love this game — you’re the reason we’re still here, still trying, still improving.
Looking Ahead
The road back to where we want to be will take time — but it’s one we’re proud to be on. This community has shown incredible patience and passion, and we’re determined to earn that trust back the same way we lost it: through real action and transparency.
